Background: From a family of... diverse origins. If you wanted to compare, the Corelli would be somewhere between Yggdmillenia and a normal Mage family; 'friendly marriages' are more common than marriages of love, since anyone with similar research fields and an interest are encouraged to marry into the family. Syllica is from an offshoot of runemages, and enjoys working with runes as much as her lineage ever has, with the goal of replicating as many of the True Magics as she can through her mastery of runes. With an origin (and sorcery trait) of Development and a specialized element of Runes, there's been some speculation among the Corelli that with her birth, her lineage has a fairly decent shot at progressing towards this feat, although the generations required for such are conveniently left unmentioned due to the various branches of the family each giving wildly different predictions ranging from 'she'll do it herself' to 'it'll take so long we might as well not bother'. Actually, she was so focused on her research that she didn't notice she'd been chosen by the Grail until it was almost too late! Scrambling to find a catalyst on such short notice, they finally managed to pry a fragment of the Library of Alexandria from the hoard of a particularly... dedicated member of the family. And with that, the story begins!

Runeset:

A mystic code that is mostly used to defend the user’s home or workshop/atelier, it can also be fitted onto a staff, or in this case, a gun. Use of this array is rare due to the difficulty in inscribing the runes onto the proper materials and is mostly restricted to master rune mages. To create this mystic code one needs a crystal that both reflects and traps light, the array should be inscribed inside the crystal in pairs forming three points. The ᛈᛊ, ᛗᚲ and ᛊᚦ will be placed inside the three points of a Kenaz rune. To inscribe the runes without breaking the crystal Alteration magic is necessary and it should preferably be done by someone skilled with Gemcraft. Once the Mystic Code is complete it will begin gathering sunlight and store it inside the Perthro rune, once the crystal is full it will become completely black. When the Mannaz and Kenaz runes spots an intruder or the user wills the array to activate it will attack by emitting a beam of focused light. The high amount of energy in the beam causes the immediate surface area of a target to be vaporized in a small explosion. Since the Code attacks using beams of light it cannot be dodged after being fired, as not even supernaturally fast creatures can surpass the speed of light, however the array lacks mystic significance and the beam can easily be blocked by E rank in the Magic Resistance Skill or simple barrier type spells, although they need to be deployed before the beam is fired. The Code can fire twenty shots before it needs to recharge.
